Attorney Marcela Evans from the Human Rights Initiative will join us for a very important bilingual presentation next Monday night.  She will be addressing SB4, what has changed, what law enforcement can legally do, and suggestions for what to do when encountering different situations with law enforcement.

With the Federal Election just a month away, one of the most important elections in our nation's history, it is important for everybody to have their voice heard.

HOW TO REGISTER: Come to Aberg Center for Literacy at St. Matthew's Cathedral on Friday, Oct 7th and see one of our Registration Experts.

WHAT TO BRING: To register you must present one of the following:

  • A valid Driver's License
  • A Personal ID Number from DPS
  • or the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number

Remember that EVERY VOTE COUNTS! So make sure you are registered to vote for the election this November.

On Friday, February 3rd @ 9am, Join Aberg Center for Literacy for an important presentation about immigration rights by Catholic Charities of Dallas, the leaders in immigration and refugee services in Dallas. The "Know Your Rights" presentation is designed to answer your questions about what rights you or your friends/family members have under U.S. Law.

The presentation is delivered in English and Spanish, and is appropriate for people of all statuses, from undocumented immigrants, to residents seeking citizenship.

Citizenship Class Registration

ABERG CENTER for LITERACY and CATHOLIC CHARITIES of DALLAS present Citizenship Classes @ St. Matthew's Cathedral (5100 Ross Ave. Dallas, TX). Registration will be:

  • Monday, Jan 30th - 11am-1pm
  • Wednesday, Feb 1st - 11am-1pm

Are you ready to take the next step to becoming an American Citizen? If you have 4 years and 9 months of Permanent Residency (or 2 years and 9 months of residency when married to a U.S. Citizen) you may qualify to take citizenship classes at ABERG CENTER. 

Expert instruction led by CATHOLIC CHARITIES ensures you will have all the information, knowledge, and training necessary to complete the form N400, pass the naturalization test, and complete your citizenship interview. 

Cost of the class is $30, which includes book + materials.
