Pop-up Supper to benefit Aberg Center for Literacy

We are excited to let you know about a new event to strengthen the connection between Aberg Center supporters and students: a Pop-Up Supper on Sunday, August 20 at 6 pm.

You may have read about the Sunday Supper Series in the Dallas Morning News recently. It’s a pop-up supper club started by one of our board members to help raise money for refugee families in Dallas and welcome them to our city. The event has been a great success in fostering community and new connections within our city--with tickets selling out in less than a day!

Here at the Aberg Center, we also serve many families who come from different backgrounds full of rich cultural and culinary traditions that give us a delicious window into another world.

We cordially invite you to our first Sunday Supper featuring a multi-course meal featuring authentic dishes cooked by Aberg Center students Tomasa from Mexico and Ana from El Salvador.

The supper will be hosted by the Sunday Supper Series co-founder and our board member, Kim Simithraaratchy, in her home in Deep Ellum. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the people we serve and also meet others who are passionate about the Aberg Center’s mission. The evening will feature cocktails, wine, great food and conversation--the perfect way to wind down your weekend!

Tickets for the Sunday Supper are $60.  Seating is limited.  Please make your reservation by purchasing a ticket here.  (Will insert the link to ACL’s payment page)   Aberg Center estimates the goods and services received to be $20 per ticket.  Please note that $40 of each ticket is a tax deductible donation to the Aberg Center.

We look forward to sharing a delectable evening with you!
